Now that the hull has cured fully you can start the first planking. I decided to leave the upper decks on for this as i felt it made the ship more stable. Start at the bottom edge of the gun-port strip on each side. Soaking the planks will help with the fitting, and work towards the keel. Pin and glue the planks at the bulkheads making sure the pin heads are left proud for easy removal. Work your way down alternating sides to avoid any twisting of the hull. It is very important that the ends of the planks should fit well against the stern and against the forward sternpost. Let the glue cure then sand to leave a smooth hull ready to take the second planking.
